About Social Bookmarking

What is Social Bookmarking?

Social bookmarking allows you to save bookmarks to a website and “tag” them with keywords. This is different from bookmarking the address of a website in your Favourites menu on your computer. Since your list of social bookmarks is public, other people can view and contribute to your list of bookmarks. This makes group collection and aggregation of bookmarks very easy.

This site uses Delicious to manage and maintain useful website links. View our latest links at the bottom right-hand portion of the website or view all the links at http://delicious.com/gfnetwork. You can help other grant facilitators by contributing your favourite links to this resource via your own Delicious account.

How do I Use Delicious?

Why Would I Want a Delicious Account?

There are many benefits to maintaining your “favourites” with Delicious:

  • Delicious bookmarks can be accessed through a web browser on any computer around the world, meaning you always have access to your “favourites”
  • Delicious stores metadata about the pages you wish to bookmark, a set of descriptive tags that allows you to more easily find the information later
  • your tags and bookmarks can be made publicly accessible, viewed by anyone who looks at your Delicious page, allowing you to share links of interest with your friends and colleagues

Step 1. Sign Up for A Delicious Account

See Delicious for step-by-step instructions on signing up for an account.

Step 2. Add a Delicious Bookmark Tool / Widget to Your Web Browser
